Denham, Western Australia
One year on…
In June 2023 we kicked off a lap around Australia that took us 80 days to finish. We started in Preston, Victoria, and sped through New South Wales and skipped the ACT. We had to pick our battles! and since we’ve seen these incredible places before we decided to skip them this time.
Our trusty old 2002 Honda Civic and Triple J’s Hottest 100 (90s – current) playlist got us around. Sure, it would’ve been different with a 4WD and 12 months to spare, but sometimes you just have to embrace what you have: limited holidays, a small city car, and heaps of faith.
We’ll throw in a bit of unsolicited advice on budget, routes, accommodation, national parks, and we’ll share some lessons learnt about travelling around Australia.
We’ll document this adventure that, we’re proud to say, didn’t involve any roadkill – except for the day we faced a rain of frogs.
Did the little Honda live up to expectations? Did we get tired of waving to every car we saw on the route? Did we see a tree kangaroo? Did we stay on budget? Stay tuned!
